Why Poland?
Poland is one of Europe’s most dynamic and reliable investment destinations. As the sixth-largest economy in the European Union — with GDP growth of 3.5% in 2025 and a forecast of 3.4% in 2026 — Poland has outpaced the OECD average for over two decades and shows no signs of slowing down.
For Michigan businesses and Polish-American entrepreneurs, Poland offers not just a market, but a gateway to the entire European Union.

Green Energy & Sustainability: Poland is accelerating its transition away from coal, with major investments in wind, solar, and hydrogen. A major hydrogen production facility in Silesia was announced in 2025. EU climate funds are actively supporting new energy projects, and Poland is bidding to host EU AI Gigafactories worth €3–5 billion each.
Information Technology & AI: Poland’s IT sector is booming. Warsaw and Kraków are established tech hubs with strong demand for software development, cloud solutions, AI, and cybersecurity services. The country is actively courting major AI infrastructure investment at the European level.
Advanced Manufacturing & Automotive: Poland is a proven hub for automotive supply chains, machinery, and electronics manufacturing. Proximity to Germany — Poland’s largest trading partner — gives manufacturers direct access to the EU’s biggest economy with no tariffs.
Business & Shared Services: Poland is one of Europe’s premier locations for shared services centers, back-office operations, and regional headquarters. Warsaw and Kraków each employ over 100,000 people in the business services sector alone, with 19.6% of those roles held by international employees.
Defense: With defense spending reaching nearly 4% of GDP in 2024 — and projected at 4.7% in 2025 — Poland represents one of Europe’s fastest-growing defense markets for U.S. exporters and contractors.
